Brother Sun, Sister Moon. Help please!

So right now I'm working on my final major project/ Macmillan entry. Its a story for children called Brother Sun, Sister Moon, which has a kinda folktaley feel. My tutor wants me to do this in hand coloured lino and I am pushing for collage. I would really appreciate peoples feedback (in fact I might put a little poll in the blog sidebar). I'm aware that neither are perfect yet but personally feel that collage is more friendly... anyway views appreciated!

The lino reminds me of the sorts of illustrations from books of my childhood (so does appeal on a nostalgic level) but the collage is more like the sort of artwork I appreciate now and reflects some of the illustrations I love from Ada's books - Lauren Child, Il Sung Na ...

    1. Thanks Rae! Thats very helpful! I'm pretty sure that I will be doing collage. There are quite a lot of changes to make to the background but I think overall it will be the better medium to choose! x

  2. Lino definitely. Collage doesn't have the detail and makes what is a very deep image become very flat.

    1. Thanks for the feedback. Afraid it looks like you've out voted though! There is quite alot of detail in the collage when you see it on a larger scale and hopefully with the adjustments I'm going to make to it that should be a bit clearer! x
